The Future of Health and Safety

WELLBEING  |  TECHNOLOGY  |  INNOVATION

25th July 2024, Christchurch Town Hall

Welcome

Following the success of the Safety Charter’s 2023 Mentally Safe Work Conference, we are pleased to announce details of the 2024 conference.

There have been many significant changes in the health and safety landscape over the last year. A new CEO at WorkSafe, valuable case law determinations in health and safety following the Whakaari/White Island prosecutions and continued focus on the role that mental wellbeing and psycho-social factors play in employee health and safety. There is also an ever-increasing role for technology to improve how risks are communicated and managed.

The theme for this year’s conference is 'The Future of Health and Safety', and we have an exciting array of speakers who will share their vision for the future.

In addition, the BIMSafe NZ project will deliver a presentation about using three-dimensional computer models to improve health and safety in all stages of a construction project. The use of digital technology is increasing exponentially in New Zealand, and the project is all about leveraging collaboration and communication opportunities to better manage and communicate risks and hazards.
